The West Pakistan Family Courts Act 1964 establishes Family Courts with jurisdiction over dissolution of marriage, dower, maintenance, custody, and restitution of conjugal rights. Procedure: (1) File suit in the Family Court where the wife resides (for maintenance/khula) or where the husband resides (for restitution). (2) Court issues notice to the respondent. (3) Pre-trial reconciliation attempt. (4) If reconciliation fails, court frames issues. (5) Parties file evidence (affidavits in lieu of examination-in-chief since 2015 amendment).
