UK Company Formation FAQs

Last updated: March 2026 · By LexForm Research

Can a Pakistani national form a UK company?

Yes. There is no nationality or residency requirement for UK company directors or shareholders. You can form a UK limited company entirely online from Pakistan. You need a UK registered office address (can be a virtual address service).

How much does it cost to form a UK company?

The Companies House registration fee is just £12 for online filing. A virtual registered office address costs £50-150 per year. Total setup cost including accounting software is typically under £200. LexForm handles the entire process.

Do I need to visit the UK to open a bank account?

Not necessarily. Digital banks like Tide, Wise Business, and Revolut Business allow you to open business accounts remotely. Traditional banks (Barclays, HSBC) usually require an in-person visit or an introduction from an accountant.

What taxes will my UK company pay?

Corporation Tax is 19% on profits up to £50,000 and 25% on profits over £250,000 (with marginal relief in between). VAT registration is required if turnover exceeds £90,000. You will also need to file a personal Self-Assessment if you receive dividends or salary.

What is the annual compliance requirement?

You must file: annual accounts with Companies House (within 9 months of year-end), a Confirmation Statement annually (£13 fee), Corporation Tax return with HMRC (within 12 months of year-end), and pay Corporation Tax (within 9 months and 1 day of year-end).
