Trademark Opposition in Pakistan: How to Oppose or Defend a Mark

When a trademark application is published in the Trade Marks Journal, any person may oppose it within 2 months (extendable by 1 month) by filing Form TM-6 with the Registrar. Grounds for opposition include all absolute and relative grounds under S.14-15 TMO. The opponent must show their earlier rights and likelihood of confusion. The applicant files a counter-statement. Both parties may file evidence. The Registrar holds a hearing and decides. Appeal lies to the IP Tribunal.
