Workers' Compensation for Workplace Injuries in Pakistan
Legal remedies for employees injured at work under the Workers' Compensation Act 1923.
The Workmen's Compensation Act 1923 provides a no-fault compensation scheme for workers injured in the course of employment. Compensation is payable for: death, permanent total disability, permanent partial disability, and temporary disability. The amount is calculated based on the worker's monthly wages and the nature of the disability. Claims are filed before the Commissioner for Workmen's Compensation. If the employer fails to pay, the Commissioner can enforce the award as a decree.
