APPEAL AGAINST CONVICTION AND SENTENCE PASSED BY ANTI-TERRORISM COURT UNDER SECTION 25 OF THE ANTI-TERRORISM ACT 1997

The Appellant respectfully submits:

1. That the Appellant was convicted on conviction_date by the Anti-Terrorism Court, atc_location, under convicted_sections and sentenced to sentence_imposed.

2. That the Appellant filed this appeal within thirty days of the conviction, as required by Section 25 of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997.

8. That the identification evidence against the Appellant is unreliable and was obtained in violation of procedural safeguards.

9. That procedural_ground which violated procedural_law_reference.

10. That the sentence of sentence_imposed is excessive and disproportionate to the gravity of the alleged offence.

11. That sentencing_ground_1. sentencing_submission_1 These factors were not adequately considered by the trial court.

LIMITATION: The present appeal is filed within the period of limitation prescribed by the parent statute, computed from the date of communication of the impugned order to the appellant. The certified copy of the impugned order has been obtained and is annexed.

PRAYER

In view of the above, it is humbly prayed that this Court may be pleased to:

(a) Allow this appeal and set aside the conviction of the Appellant;

(b) Acquit the Appellant of all charges;

(c) Order the immediate release of the Appellant;

(d) Alternatively, if the conviction is upheld, reduce the sentence to reduced_sentence; and

(e) Pass such other order as may be deemed just and proper.
