APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION OF MARRIAGE SOLEMNISED ABROAD
To, The Director / Registrar, registering_authority authority_address
Subject: Application for registration of marriage between husband_name and wife_name, solemnised at place_of_marriage on date_of_marriage, and consequential update of NADRA family records.
Respected Sir / Madam,
1. That I, applicant_name, holder of CNIC / NICOP No. applicant_cnic, presently residing at applicant_address, am the applicant_capacity (husband / wife / authorised representative) of the parties to the marriage, and am duly competent to move the present application before the office of the registering_authority.
2. That on date_of_marriage, the following marriage was solemnised in country_of_marriage between husband_name, son of husband_father, holder of CNIC / NICOP / passport No. husband_id, and wife_name, daughter of wife_father, holder of CNIC / NICOP / passport No. wife_id, in accordance with law_governing_marriage, before the competent authority, namely authority_solemnising_marriage.
3. That the marriage has been duly registered in country_of_marriage and a certificate of marriage No. foreign_certificate_number, dated certificate_date, has been issued by foreign_registrar. The said certificate has been duly attested / apostilled in accordance with the rules of the host jurisdiction and translated, where required, into Urdu / English.
4. That the parties are now desirous of having the marriage formally registered with NADRA / the Pakistani mission abroad, so that the NADRA family records may be updated, and the spouse may be issued the appropriate identity documents (CNIC / NICOP / Family Registration Certificate) reflecting the marital status.
5. That the following supporting documents are annexed herewith for the consideration of this office: (a) attested foreign marriage certificate; (b) certified translation in English / Urdu, where required; (c) copies of CNIC / NICOP / passport of both spouses; (d) photographs of both spouses; (e) attested affidavit confirming subsistence of marriage; and (f) any other document as detailed in the schedule below: documents_attached.
6. That neither of the parties is presently subsisting in any other matrimonial relationship that would render the marriage inconsistent with the personal law applicable to the parties. The applicant undertakes to abide by all directions and additional requirements that this office may impose in connection with the registration sought herein.
It is, therefore, respectfully prayed that this office may be pleased to: (a) register the marriage between husband_name and wife_name, solemnised at place_of_marriage on date_of_marriage, in the records of registering_authority; (b) update the NADRA family record / FRC accordingly to reflect the spousal relationship; (c) issue / endorse the consequential identity documents (CNIC / NICOP) of the parties; and (d) issue any additional clarification that may be required in the circumstances of the case.
