                             THE UNITED NATIONS (SECURITY COUNCIL) ACT, 1948.

                                                                ACT NO. XIV OF 1948

                                                                                                                                    [11th June, 1948]

           An Act to enable effect to be given to certain provisions of the Charter of the United Nations.

       WHEREAS; It is expedient to enable effect to be given to certain provisions of the Charter of the
United Nations; It is hereby enacted as follows:―

             1. Short title.―This Act may be called the United Nations (Security Council) Act,1948.

       2. Measures under Art. 41 of the Charter of the United Nations.― If, under Article 41 of the
Charter of the United Nations signed at San Francisco on the 26th day of June 1945, the Security
Council of the United Nations calls upon the 2[Federal Government] to apply any measures, not
involving the use of armed force, to give effect to any decision of that Council, the 2 [Federal
Government] may, by order published in the official Gazette, make such provisions (including
provisions having extra-territorial operation) as appear to it necessary or expedient for enabling those
measures to be effectively applied.3[* *     *       *      *       *      *]

         [3.Indemnity.―No suit, prosecution or other legal proceedings shall lie against any person in
respect of anything which is in good faith done or intended to be done under this Act.

       4. Power to make rules.―The Federal Government may, by notification in the official Gazette,
make rules for carrying out the purposes of this Act.

        5. Delegation.―The Federal Government may, by order, delegate to a Pakistani person, entity
or authority, subject to such conditions as may be specified therein, all or any of the powers exercisable
by it under this Act.]
