About Revenue & Land Records

Revenue and land-record administration in Pakistan is governed by provincial Land Revenue Acts — the Punjab Land Revenue Act 1967, the Sindh Land Revenue Act 1967, the KPK Land Revenue Act 1967, and the Balochistan Land Revenue Code 1967. Each Act establishes a hierarchy of revenue officers (Patwari, Tehsildar, Assistant Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner / Collector, Commissioner, Member Board of Revenue) with specific jurisdictions over mutation, partition, demarcation, possession, and recovery of arrears. The library covers mutation applications (sale, gift, inheritance), revenue petitions, demarcation applications, partition petitions in revenue courts, land-record correction applications under Section 53 of the PLRA, and revenue appeals before the higher revenue officers.
